'Toy Train' Animation

This project was based on animating on curve layers using motion path and deformers. I started off with modeling the toy train and then attaching the mesh group to follow a curve path using motion path commands. Then I attached a shape deformer to bend the mesh along the curve path. Last steps was setting up the keyframes for the animation and setting up a simple environment for the toy train for rendering.
Created using Maya and rendered with Arnold.

2017 Demo Reel

This is a compilation of animation examples I did from my Fall Semester in 2017. I started with an simple rig of a ball doing various examples of squashing/stretching and moved towards working with humanoid rigs doing various walk cycles with believable weight and movement. Each project took around 2-3 weeks before the deadline, with the run cycle at the end being extra credit.
Fun Fact: The personality ball example won 2nd place in Best Animation from the Excellence in Computer Graphics Awards from the Chico State Computer Graphics Club.

Game Animation Demo Reel

This demo reel was made in my Motion Capture class in Spring 2018. This project was to create 8 repeating animations for a video game. I worked in a small team of 3, each of us coming up with 8 different animations in a repeating pattern for a length of 8 seconds, where I based my animations from GTA 5. I wore the mo-cap suit and performed 24 different animations for my team and I, then we cleaned up our animations in Autodesk MotionBuilder. Lastly, we exported the character rig and FBXs in the Unity Engine to run all 8 animations one after another.

3D Animation Lip Synch

This animation was the last project I worked on back in 2015 from Canada College. The assignment was to grab a random audio clip from a movie and create a performance with the given character rig. I started with the main poses, then worked through splining the animation to make it more natural, then worked on the facial controls to match the dialog when played. I was most proud of this animation, which took me about 4 weeks total.
